Week 2!
Things are going really pretty well in the second week here with Chloe. She has no compunction about keeping Kate and I up all night and has this erroneous idea - like our cat Buster - that life at our house doesn't stop for rest between the hours of 12am and 7am...oh well!

Chloe's first summit with her pediatrician went well. The doc suggested she continue to eat and get more sleep and not allow anonymous blog posts about border security to get under her skin. If she takes the advice Kate and I may get more sleep!

Here we see dad (my dad) explaining some polling methodology to Chloe as she vigorously debates him on the topic of interactive polling...

Here dad and CMW discuss prospects for the upcoming week's agenda - it was hard to move the conversation past burps and frequent mentions of food so no substantive policy was discussed here.

Uncle Alex gets some face time with CMW... obviously she enjoys his company!

Ahem,

My Dear Miss Chloe Mae,

Welcome to the family. We’ve waited most impatiently for your arrival, and we want to first thank you for choosing to so conveniently arrive on a weekend – very considerate of you. Having just arrived, I thought I’d explain the landscape just a tad, so you’ll be up to speed. You may have already surmised that Mom and Dad are Republicans – I’m uncertain as to why the nursery wasn’t done in elephants – this may confuse you too, but remember, you mother is a very well balanced person.
Indeed, as to parentage you’ve chosen very wisely, and you will do well to take after their talents – two of the most capable folks I’ve ever encountered. Keep in mind that your parents are very task oriented, and you may need to make a simple request from time to time. Getting what you want should be a snap; allow me to explain: Just put anything you need or want on to the top of their ‘to do’ list and you can bet the answer will be, “I’m sure we can make that happen.” Do be careful to copy both of their ‘Blackberries’ for anything you deem to be really important or urgent. You can count on action within the hour! (Hint: Men in our family have a particular weakness for buying their daughters all the shoes and coats they ask for. You’ll find this a particular blessing as you grow older.)
You make sure and say hello to everyone in Columbus for us, and we’ll be down to see you every chance we get. You should come see us in New York, and bring a fishing pole and some Vernor’s along with you.
Take good care of you parents, and make sure they get some sleep now and again. This may require some sacrifice on your part, but the pay off will be well worth it.

With many hugs and a kiss,

Nanna

My Dear CMW,
Do try to persuade your parents to add a tiny movie to your spot here - there's nothing like live action!
Miss you,
Nanna
